Suad reviewed Anne of Avonlea by L.M Montgomery
Anne Of Avonlea follows Anne, now a young woman as she becomes the Avonlea school teacher. She still gets into "scrapes" just as she did when she was little. After declining her scholorship to Redmond College Anne decides to stay home with Marilla, whose eyesight is getting worse. With her friends Gilbert Blythe and Diana Barry she founds the Improvement Society and sets out to try and improve thier town Avonlea. After a tradgic death of one of Marilla's relative , and her twin children are left with no one to care for them , Anne and Marilla decide to adopt them until their Uncle comes to get them. Young Davy and Dora are as different as can be ; Davy is very reckless but adorable enough that you have to love him , and his twin sister Dora is as prim and proper as can be. Anne Of Avonlea is a fun , delightful book about love, friendship, and family . I give this book 5 stars and encourage you to read it.
Suad reviewed New Girl by H.A. Levigne
New Girl is a story about Anna , a 16 year old girl who has just had her grandmother pass away . Afterward her mother surprises her by telling her that she quit her law practice and is now opening a book store. Anna knew that her mother would one day quit her job but she wasn't ready for her news afterward. Her mother told her that she couldn't afford private school anymore so she would have to go to a public school. Anna was devastatd because she would miss her friends terribly. Her mom AGAIN surprised her by saying that she was going to move them to a smaller house. So now Anna was moving AND changing schools. When she gets there she finds out that the kids smoke, shoplift and drink. not knowing this before anna makes friends with the wrong kind of people and lots of peer pressure make her do some really bad things. I encourage you to read this heart warming book. 🙂 I rate this book 5 stars because it teaches you life lessons and what not to do !
Tasfia reviewed Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins
The novel, Hex Hall, written by Rachel Hawkins is about sixteen-year-old Sophie Mercer, who recently finds out that shes a witch. But unfortunately for her, her Mom is a mortal human, which means that Sophie knows next to nothing about her powers. She inherits the magic blood-line from her Dad, who abandons her, even before she could be born. Sophie doesn't know much about her father, other than the fact that he works for The Council. As if life couldn't be any harder for her, Sophie gets into trouble from time to time by using her magic, and making herself too open to the human world. So when her hopeful attempt at a love spell turns into catastrophe, and ends up drawing too much attention, she gets shipped off to Hecate (Hex) Hall: a reform school for witches, shape-shifters, werewolves, fairies, and other supernatural prodigiums, who need help controlling their powers. There, Sophie learns that she's actually a dark witch: a very powerful type of witch, and so the school's most popular and dangerous clique of dark witches want her to join their coven. When Sophie refuses, they torture her, and make her life at Hecate a lot on the difficult side. After that, things really begin to heat up, when someone starts attacking all the powerful witches at Hex Hall, and everyones suspicion falls on Sophie's roommate, Jenna, since she is the only vampire on campus. However, Sophie believes that Jenna is innocent, and is willing to prove everyone wrong. So, she starts pointing out others than Jenna for murder, but her accusations get dismissed. Nonetheless, Sophie doesn't give up. In the search of finding the real killer, Sophie uncovers some of her family's darkest secrets, and realizes what she really is, can be a threat to everyone.
In my opinion, Hex Hall was an amazing debut novel by Rachel Hawkins. Her style of writing was remarkable, with beautiful details and enjoyable characters. I found intriguing teenage angst, some light and fluffy humor, a dash of love and romance, a frightening mystery, intense suspense, and surprising twists and turns that had me on the edge the whole time I was reading. The atmosphere of the novel reminded me of Harry Potter, what with the gifted characters, magic spells, and not to mention the school itself, which related to Hogwarts. At times, I really felt like I was reading a second version of Harry Potter through a girls point of view, which was wonderful. The novel finished with a cliffhanger ending, which had me eager for the sequel. All in all, Hex Hall deserved five stars, and I recommend it to anyone who is into paranormal fantasy, like me.

Thanks SUad for your review of Anne of Avonlea. I’ve always wanted to read that book, and now I will!
Wow, I adore Anne of Green Gables. I’ve read Anne of Avonlea a few years ago too and greatly enjoyed it. That girl is hilarious–have anyone watched the tv movies? Watching the movies and reading the books, Montgomery does a good job in the books to draw readers in and make the characters believable. Anne is one seriously dramatic girl; her sense of gratitude and fierce anger makes her really memorable. “CARROTS?!”
New girl sounds cool!
