Annie reviewed Spider Bones by Kathy Reichs
Spider Bones, by Kathy Reichs is a thrilling novel where Temp Brennan, a forensic scientist solves crimes. Temp lives alone with her cat, Birdy and bird, Charlie and is a forensic anthropologist, working in Montreal. When Brennen is called to a Quebec drowning, the victim awaits… wrapped in plastic with a rock tied to his leg. With the help from Temp's ex, Ryan (a homicide cop) the victim is identified as John Lowery. But when further research is done, it is found that Lowery was an American soldier who died in 1968, at war in Vietnam. Temp is then set out to figure out who was buried in the North Carolina grave in the 1960s? The body's remains are further analysed in Hawaii at a military base but things get really complicated when she is contacted to ME (another military organization) to investigate a shark attack on the island. This exciting thriller spans years, continents and too many tragic loses. This book is recommended for young adults who like thrillers and mysteries but also to people who may be interested in the field of forensic science.
Galinna reviewed A Long Walk to Water: based on a True Story by Linda Sue Park
A Long Walk to Water is a story about a young boy named Salva who is froced to flee his village in Sudan because of war. Because this book begins as two alternating stories, a story of a young girl called Nya takes place in which she is forced to walk hours away from her home just to fetch water for her family, in fact it is unclean water. After Salva had been forced apart from his family, he ends up not only fleeing his home but many other towns and even refugees as he tries to search for the rest of his family and a safe place to stay. Eventually, overcoming all hardships, Salva becomes a survivor and it is determination that eventually leads his life to hope. He moves to New York where a kind and loving family adopts him, while not having to survive starvation or hunger, and finally living a restful life. He feels as if something needed to be changed, he felt as something needed to be done in Sudan to save the other innocent lives as he probably knows not everyone is able to survive. No sooner and no later, many other people gather together to create a foundation that had helped build many wells in Sudan that provided most villages with clean water. Both stories take place in the past and also in the future, but as you near the end of the book you will realize how nicely tied together both endings are.

Spider Bones is basically in the fields of books I’m reading: Crimes and Detection. Great review. 😛
A Long walk to Water: based on a true story sounds so amazing. It’s wonderful to see how people are trying so hard to make a difference in the world. This should motivate people to help others who are less fortunate than we are.
Spider Bones sounds really interesting, and A Long Walk to Water too, it sounds really sad at the beginning, but its sounds great that he founds the hope and happiness in his life.
