Pascal Girard in pictures
I was slightly skeptical when I first saw this graphic novel…I was however pleasantly surprised. Pascal Girard is a Quebecois cartoonist, with several titles to his credit already. Bigfoot is his "english" deput. Bigfoot is a story of first crushes, best friends, and the consequences of posting videos to YouTube. Jimmy's best friend posts a video of Jimmy dancing(…and not very well I might add…) to YouTube. Jimmy instantly becomes a YouTube sensation, this however is not a good thing. His video is so popular that Jimmy cannot even walk down the street without someone recognizing and ridiculing him. Jimmy is NOT happy about all of the attention coming his way. Jimmy's luck is about to change however, when his uncle asks Jimmy to post a video of "Bigfoot" to YouTube for him…

Great interview! Good questions, nifty answers… made me want to read the book…
In all honesty, I really really dread reading paragraphs with tons of words, and it’s like reading Terms & Conditions because of the many words. But I really liked the format of this interview, because it was really easy and fun to read through this interview.
I love it! Great interview, and the cartoons in watercolour are cool!
that was a good and funny read. it’s always hard giving up what you love in life but even better when you find your way back to what you loved in the first place.
Oh nice! I’ve seen this graphic novel so many times at the bookstore but have never put much thought into reading it. Thanks for the post, it is now on my list of future reads 😀
And the illustrated q&a~ shows off his personality, it’s so amusing 🙂 Plus I feel all fuzzy inside knowing he started drawing when he was 24 rather than the more common sinceiwaslittle.

When i read the first question i couldn’t help but laugh, i love interesting interviews like this, especially the last question, I’m working on learning Japanese ^^. The cartoons are also pretty dynamic

Kudos to you Jen, some of these reviews suck. Your review looked professional and well-written. I love Indie books (Indie is an unofficial genre, it means independent) and I know Pascal is an artist, but the whole “Author” thing surprised me. I am DEFINITELY putting this on hold.
