Mannissha has reviewed Hush Hush – By: Becca Fitzpatrick
This is one of the books I've enjoyed reading this summer. It grabs the readers attention and makes them not put the book down. I would rate this book 4.5/5. Instead of the normal vampire books many people have read these days, Hush Hush brings in a new type of creature FALLEN ANGELs. Nora Grey is the main character in the book and she is a smart and sensible girl but she is drawn to a mysterious boy called Patch. In the beginning, Nora tries to stay away from Patch but she is always drawn to him. Her attraction towards him is found out later on in the book. But, other than the romance there is someone out to kill Nora and Nora is trying to figure out who. There are a few suspects that come to mind but it shocked me to find out whom the killer was. The book captures love and danger in magnificent ways which draws readers attention towards the book.
Mannissha reviewed Arisa vol 1 by Natsumi Ando
This manga is based on two twin girls that were seperated when they were younger but they have kept in contact by letters. Tsubasa thinks her twin Arisa is perfect. Like most books, one twin is the nice one and the other is the mean one which seems to be Tsubasa. But something happens that seems to change that. Arisa attempts to suicide which causes Tsubasa to go to Arisa school undercover to find out why she attempted sucide. Tsubasa later finds out about a vicious game going on in the class called the KING game. As secrets unravel the more dangerous things start to become for Tsubasa. I found this book to be very intriguing. It compels readers to keep on reading. Plus the artwork was very good.
Mannissha reviewed Perfect You – By: Elizabeth Scott
I enjoyed reading this book as much as reading the other books Elizabeth Scott has written. Her books are books I know teens will enjoy reading if they like romance and comedy. The books basically revolves around Kate's life which is terrible. Her dad quit his job to sell vitamins in the mall, her best friend dumped her to hang out with the popular crowd and her family is having money problems. And her grandma is kinda pushy and self absorbed sometimes. Kate also falls for Will. But she tries desperatly to tell herself he and her don't belong. Will has a reputation for being a player. Kate doesn't want to just be another girl Will has been with so she tries to distance herself but she always is pulled back to him. The book is an enjoyable book to read.
Suliman reviewed Money Hungry – By: Sharon G. Flake
Raspberry Hill is a thirteen year old girl who lives with her mom in the projects and the only thing she cares about is money. She loves money! She would do anything to get her hands on it- clean houses, skip lunch to keep her lunch money, sell rotten candy to her fellow students, and wash cars. Her obsession with money is all because she is afraid, afraid of becoming homeless again. The only way to prevent that from happening is for her to save up on money. But money does not always help Raspberry, it could cause problems. Raspberry became greedy and stole money from her best friend Zora. Raspberry made her mom so mad that she took most of Raspberry's money and threw it out the window because she thought that Raspberry had stole money from Ja'nae's dad.
Sara reviewed I am Nujood Age 10 and Divorced – By: Nujood Ali
This book was like a fairytale. It had a princess (Nujood), an evil person (Nujoods husband) and a hero(Nujoods lawyer Shada)
This book was one of the most heartbreaking stories I ever read. The thing that makes it more filled with anguish is that it a true story. I can't believe that a girl aged 10 would get married! That husband of hers…a monster! He did nasty things with her and when Nujood tried to free herself, he beat her up! Nujood is truly a brave girl,. She had the courage to go to the court even when her father went against her. She is the youngest divorcee ever. She has inspired other girls to against their husbands. What is even more dreadful is that Nujood hadn't even hit puberty when she was married. This girl was filled with hardship in her lifetime, but she overcame it all because she was brave and determined! This proves that no matter what your age is, you can do anything if you try!
